Big News

We have a big announcement, our first radio single, “Because He Told Me” is being released to 800 Southern Gospel radio stations on December 6th.  We are asking all our fans to start calling their local gospel stations  and requesting the song as often as possible.  Thank you.

We are Crystal Valley; sometimes a trio and other times a quartet, but every time musical ministers wherever the Lord may lead.  Our mission is to bring the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world through the ministry of Southern Gospel Music. This type of music has a long and great history with such great groups as the Statesmen, the Cathedrals, Gold City and many more. With clearly sung words and a great message in every song, it is sure to be a blessing. The members who make up Crystal Valley are dedicated to ministry, and will always do our best to present a program pleasing to the Lord and our audience. If you are not entertained, encouraged, and spiritually challenged during one of our performances, we would be surprised. Crystal Valley will boldly sing and share the joy of our salvation with anyone anywhere and at any time!

Crystal Valley

John Shields

John Shields

Lead Singer

John has been the lead singer of Crystal Valley since March of 2005.  he has been singing for the Lord since he was 12 years old as a soloist, choir member, Christian rock singer, and has sang with three touring southern Gospel quartets.  John has had the joy and honor of sharing the stage with Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, The Kingdom Heirs, The Lesters, Danny FunderBurk and Mercy’s Way, and Southern Sound.  Happily married to his wife Jane, together they have 7 children, 7 grandchildren and one on the way.  John says, “I am blessed beyond measure.”

Bruce Yates

Bruce Yates

Baritone

Bruce Yates began singing at age 11. Classically trained, he began singing quartet music by age 18.  He sang with Shepherds Praise Quartet, Good Shepherds Ministry through college.  Leaving the road in 1990, continuing his pastoral and counseling calling, he founded Irish Hammer Power in 1991.   Approached by Doug Hawkins in 1999, he returned to Redeemed prior to starting with The Crystal Valley Quartet in 2003.  Bruce left the road from 2005-2007, returning to music in 2007 with Crystal Valley.  Bruce is an ordained minister in the Nazarene Church and has been married to his wife Lynn for 25 years.  They have 3 grown children.

Alicia Yates

Alicia Yates

Utility Vocalist

Alicia Yates; youngest child of Baritone Bruce Yates,  began singing as a small child, and realized early on that she had a natural, God-given talent to sing His praises.  Alicia, or “Sis” as she is called has sung with choirs, and competed as a soloist as well as a valued member of several singing groups.  This young lady of barely 20 years joined Crystal Valley while we were on the road, and an unfortunate incident suddenly left us without a tenor.  Two hours before a scheduled concert Sis stepped up and wowed the croud (and saved the day)!  Alicia brings talent far beyond her years, and has been an amazing blessing to this group.  Please welcome the sweet Alicia Yates as the very first female vocalist of Crystal Valley!

Aaron Roberts

Aaron Roberts

Tenor

Aaron Roberts joins Crystal Valley from the Richmond, IN area.  He began singing quartet music as a young man with the Watchmen Quartet, and the Christianaires. Aaron also sang with the Midnight Hour Trio, the Roberts Brothers, and as a soloist.  Aaron has shared the stage with the likes of Mark Trammell, the Kingdom Heirs, and several other gospel music pioneers.  Aaron has a sweet and true tenor voice, and a sweet Godly spirit in all he says and does.  He has served as an Associate Minister and Chairman of the Elders at his home church, having graduated from Kentucky Christian College.   In 1999 Aaron married his sweetheart Lora, and they celebrate 20 years of marriage this year. Aaron is an inspirational speaker, soloist, and an all-around witness to the joy of serving Christ.  Aaron and Lora are the proud parents of 18 year-old son Sam; a local golfing sensation and excellent sound engineer!  This husband-wife team are both law enforcement officers, so act right or it could be rough!  When you see the CV next, let our brother Aaron know how much he is appreciated.

Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us. – Martin Luther
